Comunità educativa per minori "Myriam"

In anticipation of the first centenary of our foundation, sometime in 1980, Mother Giovanna pushed for our presence in the land of our beloved Founder. The opportunity came when the Municipality of Meta needed the presence of Sisters in the administration of the "Fienga" School – a moral entity located at Piazza Salvatore Ruggero.
In those years, the children of the Orphanage "Casa della Madonna" attended the "Fienga" School and from there, we had known a certain pious woman, by the name of Maria Scognamiglio, the Directress of the “Casa della Madonna”, a charitable institution in favor of orphans and poor children. When her health conditions did not allow her anymore to exercise her apostolate, she requested for the presence of the Sisters in the said “Casa della Madonna” and so, in 1989, a community was formed there, precisely to continue the apostolate with orphaned girls. Subsequently, following the new regulations on the hospitality for minors, the Sisters collaborated with Dr. Ersilia Crisci for some years, who managed the "La Favola" with about twenty children. Then, in the year 1998, after completing the extraordinary maintenance and renovation so as to make the building suitable for a family house as required by the current regulations, the apostolate at the "Myriam" Family Home was started, and subsequently managed directly by the Congregation.
